In fact we live next to an enchanted old-growth forest home to Hatley Castle and Gardens on the shores of a protected ocean lagoon, itself a migratory bird sanctuary. Miles of rugged west coast beaches to explore and home to Parks Canada Fort Rodd Hill (1890's) and Fisgard Lighthouse (1860) National Historic Sites.
